We were founded by three brothers and a son/nephew, representing the 12th and 13th generations of a Dutch family whose experience goes back to farming Manhattan Island in the 1600s. Our ancestors migrated to central Kentucky six generations ago, when their evolution to grain farming began.
Along with the land that was passed along from generation to generation came the Heritage of strong values, including quality, continuous improvement, truth, ecology, innovation, resourcefulness, and achievement.
Because our parent company, Peterson Farms, jumped at the opportunity to diversify when a Hemp pilot project first legalized it in Kentucky in 2015, we have deep experience with the hemp plant. The first hemp crop was harvested in 2016, and Peterson Farms has continued to travel the world to study other hemp operations, learn best practices, design superior drying systems, and understand genetics and varieties of cannabis which produce the best hemp products.
